Tonight (29th February) and tomorrow evening (1st March), approximately 1.6 million television viewers in Spain will catch glimpses of Ireland through the lens of Tourism Ireland’s initiative. The national Spanish broadcaster RTVE was invited to film three episodes for its popular series Aquí la Tierra (Here the Earth), with support from Fáilte Ireland.

A TV crew, accompanied by renowned Spanish TV presenter Aunitz Alberdi, visited various locations earlier this month, highlighting Ireland’s landscape, biodiversity, and culinary delights. The first episode, showcasing Keogh’s Farm in North County Dublin, is scheduled for airing tonight. Tomorrow, viewers can enjoy the second 30-minute episode, featuring Rock Farm Slane on the Slane Castle estate. Later this month, the third episode will spotlight ‘farm to fork’ Brogans Butchers in Athboy.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Spain, said:“Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite RTVE and the Aquí la Tierra team to come and film in Ireland. Each episode filmed here will be seen by around 1.6 million people – highlighting our wonderful farm and food scene to Spanish audiences and inspiring them to put Ireland on their holiday ‘wish-list’ for 2024.”

Promotional campaigns and broadcasts such as these play a crucial role in Tourism Ireland’s efforts to ignite the imagination of Spanish travelers, showcasing the myriad offerings of the island of Ireland for holidays in 2024 and beyond.
