A key highlight of the trip was a visit to Nanfeng County, renowned for its high-quality honey tangerines, which are a source of local pride and economic growth. The Shehan Gold Premium Tangerine Orchard, a modernized agricultural project supported by Wynn Care Foundation, played a prominent role in showcasing how industrial upgrades are driving the region’s development. The orchard spans more than 50 acres and is a testament to the potential for sustainable agricultural practices in rural revitalization. Visitors had the chance to interact with local growers and witness firsthand how Wynn’s initiatives are contributing to both environmental sustainability and economic development.
Wynn’s involvement in Jiangxi goes beyond the tangerine orchard, with other projects such as a bean processing plant in Xiushui County and a potato starch facility in Nancheng County. These efforts are part of Wynn’s broader commitment to rural revitalization, aligning with the Macau government’s pledge to strengthen economic ties and provide long-term support for the province’s growth.
Exploring Red Culture and Historical Sites in Jiangxi
In addition to its focus on innovation and agriculture, the trip also featured a deep dive into Jiangxi’s “red culture,” which is tied to the history of the Chinese Communist Party and the Long March. Red tourism, as this niche is known, is gaining significant traction in Jiangxi, where the history of China’s revolutionary journey is preserved in numerous landmarks.
One of the key moments of the tour was a visit to Yudu County, the starting point of the Red Army’s Long March in 1934. The delegation followed the path taken by President Xi Jinping during his 2019 inspection of the region, visiting historical sites such as the Memorial Garden for the Long March Starting Point of the Central Red Army and the Yudu Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall. They also toured Tantou Village, which holds significant cultural importance, and met with Sun Guanfa, a descendant of a Red Army martyr, to learn more about the region’s rich revolutionary history.
These stops provided a profound understanding of China’s historical journey, particularly the hardships and resilience displayed during the Long March. By exploring these sites, the delegates gained insight into how historical education and patriotism are integrated into rural development and tourism in the region.
Ecotourism in Jiangxi: Sustainable Development and Preservation of Natural Heritage
Another key part of the delegation’s tour was an exploration of Jiangxi’s commitment to sustainable ecotourism. The group visited Yingtan, a region known for its breathtaking natural beauty and historical significance. Yingtan is home to Longhu Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Tianshi Mansion, regarded as the birthplace of Taoism. The group experienced ecotourism firsthand with activities such as a bamboo raft ride along the Luxi River, where they learned about the region’s efforts to promote sustainable development while preserving its natural resources.
Jiangxi’s focus on integrating tourism with environmental conservation offers valuable lessons for Macau and other regions seeking to balance tourism growth with environmental sustainability. The delegation’s visit to these ecotourism sites highlighted the potential for using tourism as a tool for both economic growth and ecological preservation.

Through this immersive tour, Wynn and its partners have succeeded in fostering a deeper understanding of the synergies between Macau’s dynamic youth and Jiangxi’s development initiatives. The delegation’s activities have helped build bridges between the two regions, focusing on innovation, cultural exchange, and mutual economic development. For the young entrepreneurs and business leaders who participated, the trip was an opportunity to explore new ideas for collaboration, particularly in the areas of business, tourism, and agricultural technology.
Wynn’s investment in Jiangxi’s rural revitalization, combined with its support for Macau’s youth, illustrates the powerful role that tourism and cultural exchange play in shaping long-term economic and social growth. This initiative is not only helping to boost tourism in Jiangxi but also ensuring that Macau’s youth are well-equipped to contribute to the region’s broader development goals.

The trip has left a lasting impact on the participants, many of whom expressed their commitment to leveraging national development opportunities. They emphasized their desire to contribute to the advancement of Macau’s tourism industry, promote its unique strengths, and play a role in strengthening ties with Jiangxi and other parts of China.

As the youth of Macau look to the future, the lessons learned from this trip will undoubtedly inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs committed to innovation and social responsibility.
Building Stronger Regional Ties Through Tourism and Development
