Finland, Germany, the United States, and more prepare for record-breaking cruise ship deliveries in 2025, with major new vessels transforming the industry.
The latest edition of Cruise Industry News cruise ship orderbook provides a comprehensive overview of all new ships expected to be delivered through 2036. Valued at $57 billion, these vessels will have an average capacity of 2,500 guests and an average size of 115,000 tons.

In 2025, 15 new cruise ships are set to join fleets, with six being delivered by Fincantieri, three by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, and three from Meyer shipyards in Finland and Germany.
The first ship to be handed over this year was the Mein Schiff Relax, built by Fincantieri, which joined TUI Cruises’ fleet in early February.
Other major cruise lines set to receive new ships in 2025 include Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, and Royal Caribbean International. Royal Caribbean’s new addition, the Star of the Seas, will become one of the world’s largest cruise ships. The 250,800-ton vessel, built by Meyer Turku, is set to join the fleet in August, following the 2023-delivered Icon of the Seas.
Princess Cruises will also receive a new ship, Star Princess, a 175,000-ton sister ship to the Sun Princess, which is set for delivery in the third quarter of 2025.

In a milestone year, Disney Cruise Line will introduce two new ships, including the 208,000-ton Disney Adventure from MV Werften and the Wish-class Disney Destiny from Meyer Werft.
Other notable deliveries in 2025 include MSC’s World America, which will start year-round U.S. operations in April.
The Royal Caribbean Group has also expanded its fleet plans, signing a deal for a sixth Edge Class vessel for Celebrity Cruises, set to be delivered in 2028. The ship, built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, will be a sister to the Celebrity Xcel.
Additionally, Royal Caribbean is planning its third Icon Class ship, the Legend of the Seas, which will debut in 2026.
Recent updates in the orderbook include new details on Viking’s upcoming 2026 and 2027 vessels, with the Viking Mira and Viking Libra expected next year and the Viking Astrea scheduled for 2027.
Orient Express has confirmed dates and names for two new sailing yachts, while Four Seasons has updated its delivery schedule.
