A large fire in Trafalgar square broke in around 5:50. About 125 fire fighters are tackling a “challenging” blaze that has broken out in the basement of a pub in Trafalgar Square in central London. Luckily there is no news of injuries or any kind of damage.

A huge plume of smoke has been noticed in Admiralty Square.

London Fire Brigade originally sent 10 fire engines and around 70 fire-fighters to the scene but later reconsidered and sent more to control the damaging situation.

About 150 people have been evacuated from the sight as few amounts of smoke have been noticed. The affected area could damage numerous businesses and thus quick evaporation has been absolutely necessary.

According to a Met Police spokesman, the blaze was not appearing to be specifically dangerous at the beginning. However, the fire broke in desperately and control was absolutely necessary. LFB said half of the pub’s basement was alight.

Station Commander Keith McDermott was on the scene.  He reported that the fire looked arduous, challenging and hot. They have decided to bring in more firefighters to the sight.

The fight took place for three hours and after which a spokesperson said that they are moving towards steady progress. Although they reported that it will take several more hours to control the fire properly. He also requested to spare every firefighter some time. They also reported using a high amount of water.

The Admiralty, Trafalgar Square has notified that it will remain closed until further notice. They will notify the opening in their social channels.
