Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), in its role as a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub, has embarked on a further step in its digital transformation by unveiling the ‘Shop&Fly’ service at Fiumicino Airport. This innovative service enables travelers to reserve products via the ADR website and then complete the payment and collection process at the airport itself. The offering encompasses approximately 9,000 products from over 600 distinguished brands available at Lagardère Travel Retail’s Aelia Duty Free shops.
Marilena Blasi, the Chief Commercial Officer at ADR, elaborated on the company’s commitment to satisfying customer needs, emphasizing the importance of a seamless digital experience, particularly in the pre-flight phase when passengers engage with shopping and dining services. She highlighted the ‘Shop&Fly’ e-commerce platform as a crucial development that permits passengers to reserve duty-free items online and pay for them in-store. This initiative marks the beginning of ongoing enhancements concerning the range, brands, and services provided, all tailored to meet customer demands.
A collaboration between ADR and ITA Airways has been established, ensuring that all airline passengers, including those from non-Schengen areas, have the opportunity to collect their ‘Shop&Fly’ orders at Aelia Duty Free stores’ designated pick-up points.
Alberto Niero, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Italia, expressed enthusiasm about the introduction of the ‘Shop&Fly’ service, a result of the partnership with ADR and its associated brands. This project aims to cater to the evolving digital preferences of consumers by offering an additional platform for purchasing products.
Furthermore, the digital and physical retail experience (‘phygital’) at ADR and Fiumicino Airport is being expanded through enhancements to the ADR website. This e-shopping platform includes services like ‘Personal Shopper,’ allowing travelers to book luxury items in advance for in-store payment; ‘Book a Table,’ for reserving seats at airport restaurants; and ‘Take Away and Fly,’ which offers the convenience of online meal purchases for airport collection.
