Thailand hospitality is facing a changing business environment as weaker visitor demand and rising room supply create new challenges for hotel operators across the country. The development matters because pricing decisions are becoming increasingly important as tourism patterns shift and competition grows. RoomPriceGenie has partnered with Ultsch Consult to support hotels through advanced revenue solutions designed to improve pricing management approaches. The move highlights how Thailand hospitality businesses are adapting to market pressure while seeking stronger financial performance. With professional revenue tools gaining attention, the partnership represents a significant step towards modernising hotel operations and strengthening tourism recovery efforts nationwide.
Thailand’s hotel industry has been placed under increasing market pressure as international visitor numbers and accommodation performance indicators have weakened. The country recorded approximately 32.97 million international visitors in 2025, representing a decline of 7.23 per cent compared with the previous year.
The decline marked the first annual drop since the pandemic recovery period. Through early July 2026, arrivals were still recorded below previous-year levels, leading the Tourism Authority of Thailand to adjust its full-year forecast to between 30 million and 34 million international visitors.
The changing tourism environment has created a greater need for effective pricing strategies. As demand patterns become less predictable and room supply continues to increase, hotels are being encouraged to adopt more advanced approaches to revenue management.

The impact of changing conditions has been reflected in hotel performance across Thailand’s key destinations. According to Cushman & Wakefield Thailand data, Bangkok hotel occupancy declined to 73 per cent during the second quarter of 2026, compared with 77 per cent in the previous quarter.
Revenue per available room (RevPAR) was also reduced by seven per cent to THB2,672, highlighting the pressure being experienced by city hotels. Similar challenges were recorded in Phuket, where luxury and upscale properties saw occupancy fall to 80 per cent in the first half of 2026 from 84.1 per cent a year earlier.
Average daily rates in Phuket declined by four per cent to THB6,820, while RevPAR decreased by 8.7 per cent. These figures demonstrate why revenue solutions are becoming increasingly relevant for hotel businesses seeking improved pricing efficiency.
RoomPriceGenie has appointed Ultsch Consult to lead its market development activities in Thailand. The consultancy has been responsible for expanding the company’s presence among independent hotels and regional hotel groups while adapting its revenue solutions to local market requirements.

The partnership has been established as Thailand hospitality operators face the challenge of balancing room availability, pricing decisions and changing traveller demand. Through technology-based revenue solutions, hotels are being supported with tools designed to strengthen pricing management processes.
Ultsch Consult founder and chief executive Florian Ultsch explained that traditional pricing methods had become less effective as market conditions changed. He highlighted that many hotel owners had previously relied on experience, spreadsheets and online travel agency observations when setting rates.
According to Ultsch, this approach was not necessarily caused by poor management but was often linked to limited resources. However, during periods of lower occupancy and increasing supply, inefficient pricing decisions could create additional financial challenges.
The partnership reflects a wider shift towards technology adoption within the global hospitality sector. RoomPriceGenie head of global partnerships André Kaufmann stated that business relationships remained particularly important in Southeast Asia’s independent hotel sector.
The company’s expansion approach has been focused on building trust with local operators while providing solutions designed for independently managed properties. This local market connection is expected to support stronger engagement with Thailand hospitality businesses.
Research from Skift Research indicates that only around 10 per cent of hoteliers worldwide currently use dedicated revenue management systems. This suggests that significant opportunities remain for technology providers offering specialised revenue solutions.
Thailand’s hospitality industry continues to represent a major economic sector. Mordor Intelligence estimates the market size at US$24.53 billion in 2026, with growth projected to US$36.26 billion by 2031.
The introduction of new revenue solutions comes at a time when Thailand tourism businesses are adapting to a more competitive operating environment. The hospitality sector is being influenced by changing visitor numbers, evolving traveller behaviour and increased accommodation supply.
For hotels, effective pricing management has become an essential operational priority. The RoomPriceGenie and Ultsch Consult partnership highlights the growing role of technology in helping properties respond to market pressure.
As Thailand hospitality continues to develop, the use of data-driven revenue solutions could become increasingly important for independent hotels and regional operators. The focus remains on improving pricing decisions, strengthening business performance and supporting long-term competitiveness within Thailand’s tourism economy.
Thailand hospitality is experiencing a period of adjustment as hotels respond to changing tourism demand and increased market pressure. The partnership between RoomPriceGenie and Ultsch Consult highlights the growing importance of revenue solutions in supporting smarter pricing decisions. With visitor trends and hotel performance indicators creating new challenges, technology adoption is becoming a valuable focus for operators. The collaboration demonstrates how Thailand hospitality businesses are exploring modern tools to improve efficiency, manage competition and strengthen future performance. Revenue solutions are expected to remain an important part of the sector’s ongoing transformation.
