Flamingo Air Inc. (Flamingo Air), a versatile private airline offering a range of FAA Certifications, including flight training, Part 65 Aircraft Dispatch Certification, and Part 107 Drone Certification, is excited to announce its recent acquisition. Flamingo Air has acquired 17 hangars situated at 4730 Airport Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, within the Cincinnati Municipal Airport (Lunken Field). These hangars encompass a substantial 92,000 square feet of space, fully equipped with tools, testing equipment, metalworking machinery, and 10 aircraft tie-down spaces, along with an extensive inventory of aircraft parts. This acquisition was made from Air Tolin Inc., a small aircraft repair and restoration company. The newly acquired facility will be rebranded as “GCA Maintenance and Repair,” paying homage to the Greater Cincinnati Airmen. Positioned just 3 miles east of Downtown Cincinnati, it serves as a hub for corporate, private, and charter aircraft operations.
This strategic acquisition enables Flamingo Air to expand its service portfolio beyond aircraft maintenance and repairs. Plans are underway to introduce aircraft painting and restoration services, as well as major inspections, expected to be fully operational by 2024.
Sharon McGee, Owner of Flamingo Air, expressed, “This marks the final addition to the Flamingo Family of Aviation education and training. With ample space to service our own fleet, we can now extend our services to all general aircraft owners.”
Flamingo Air currently operates the Flamingo Air Academy, a flight school offering training from Private through Multi-engine ratings. Additionally, Flamingo Air has partnered with Indiana Wesleyan University, allowing students the opportunity to convert their pilot’s certificate into a college degree. Furthermore, Flamingo Air is the proud operator of Airline Ground Schools, recognized as the world’s largest aircraft dispatch certification school. The company also houses the Worker Bee division, which trains students, first responders, law enforcement officers, and various industry professionals in flying, maintaining, and repairing drones. The Flamingo Airtronics division specializes in avionics technician training.
With this acquisition, Flamingo Air is now positioned to provide avionics repair and maintenance services to the public, filling a gap in the aviation industry and solidifying its integral role in Cincinnati’s and Ohio’s aviation landscape.
