Fliggy, a prominent online travel platform and a fully owned subsidiary of Alibaba Group, has formalized a letter of intent with Choose Paris Region, an agency dedicated to business growth and destination promotion in the Paris Region. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration in the realms of digital marketing and customer services. The joint announcement of the Fliggy X Paris Region Pass and Online Chinese Customer Service Center was made at a signing ceremony held in Hangzhou.

In response to the swift recovery of China’s outbound tourism, the Fliggy X Paris Region Pass, providing access to the city’s top attractions, will soon be available for purchase on the Fliggy platform. Upon acquiring a Fliggy X Paris Region Pass, customers can obtain a physical card and a creatively designed map showcasing popular tourist destinations along with insightful travel tips. Redemption can be done at specified locations, including Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and downtown areas.

To cater to the needs of Chinese tourists in France, an Online Chinese Customer Service Center will be established, offering round-the-clock customer support. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to explore the incorporation of technologies like augmented reality (AR) and live streaming to offer an immersive experience for touring museums and art venues.

Dangxing Chu, Head of International Vacation Business at Fliggy, expressed, “We have long desired to introduce a city pass in partnership with Choose Paris Region, allowing Chinese tourists to truly appreciate the beauty and unique charm of this region. This aspiration is now coming to fruition.”

With increasing travel between China and France, Fliggy’s data indicates a significant surge in visa service orders for France compared to the previous year. Concurrently, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced visa-free access for French ordinary passport holders for up to 15 days from December 2023 to November 2024.

Christophe Decloux, Deputy Managing Director of Choose Paris Region, noted, “Chinese tourists are increasingly opting for self-guided tours over group tours when visiting Paris. Our primary goal is to create an exceptional visitor experience, providing deeper insights into the city and the Parisian way of life. With Paris hosting the Summer Olympics and the 150th Anniversary of Impressionism in 2024, we aim to enhance services and travel experiences for Chinese tourists during these exciting moments through our collaborative efforts.”

Zhuoran Zhuang, CEO of Fliggy, said: “Steeped in France’s profound history and rich culture, the Paris Region has long been a must-visit destination for Chinese travelers. Through this collaboration, we can combine Fliggy’s ecosystem and innovations with Choose Paris Region’s rich travel resources to better showcase the uniqueness of the beautiful city, as well as create more exciting travel experiences, thus contributing to the bright future of Sino-French cultural tourism.”
