In a tragic turn of events, Flight LS918 from Tenerife to Manchester was abruptly diverted to Cork Airport after the discovery of a deceased passenger in the plane’s restroom. Departing Tenerife on Thursday, the Jet2 flight had been en route to Manchester when the incident unfolded, prompting an emergency landing in Cork Airport.

Passengers on board raised concerns after noticing a fellow traveler spending an unusually extended period in the aircraft’s lavatory. Alerted by the vigilant passengers, the cabin crew swiftly responded to investigate the situation.

Jet2, in a statement to the Mirror, confirmed the unfortunate demise of the passenger despite the valiant efforts of the highly-trained crew. Expressing condolences, the airline acknowledged the difficulty of the situation and commended the crew for their prompt intervention. It is reported that the passenger suffered a cardiac arrest, leading to his untimely death. Following the emergency landing at Cork Airport around 7:30 pm, an array of services, including emergency personnel, Gardaí (Irish police), and Cork Airport police, were promptly deployed to provide assistance.

The deceased passenger’s body has been transported to a mortuary in Cork, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the precise cause of death.
