To usher in the Year of the Dragon, British Airways is adding special touches both on the ground and in the air for this festive season.

Throughout the celebration, passengers flying between London and Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore have the opportunity to savor traditional festive dishes symbolizing luck and prosperity. First-class customers can indulge in a black pepper spiced fillet of beef with Chinese seven-spiced broccolini, while those in Club World (business class) can savor spicy Kung Pao prawn, a dish with historical significance from the Chinese Imperial Palace. First and Club World travelers can also relish a white chocolate tangerine mousse, featuring the auspicious fruit symbolizing gold in Chinese culture.

For World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and World Traveller (economy) passengers, the offering includes the traditional Huaiyang dish, Lion’s Head meatballs, crafted from steamed pork in oyster sauce. Named for its lion-like round shape, this dish signifies familial unity.

Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer at British Airways, expressed the airline’s desire to enhance the journey for customers celebrating the Lunar New Year, extending warm wishes for a joyous Year of the Dragon.

During the festival week, travelers passing through London Heathrow Terminal 5 will receive red envelopes containing chocolate coins, along with captivating lion dance performances on the concourse.

For passengers heading to London, British Airways’ customer service teams plan to spread holiday cheer by surprising some lucky customers born in the Year of the Dragon with upgrades to Club World (business class) and lounge access, making their journeys even more memorable.
