Published on May 29, 2025

flydubai is setting a new benchmark in aviation by dramatically expanding its route network across Europe, introducing four fresh nonstop destinations in Moldova, Romania, Latvia, and Lithuania. This bold step not only signifies a major growth phase for the airline but also establishes flydubai as a trailblazer in connecting Dubai with emerging and previously underserved markets throughout Eastern Europe and the Baltic region.

For the first time, flydubai will become the sole UAE airline offering nonstop flights to the Baltic capitals of Riga and Vilnius. This breakthrough opens vital new air links, bridging a longstanding connectivity gap between these dynamic regions and the Middle East. This expansion reflects a strategic vision to meet the rising travel demand and foster stronger economic, cultural, and tourism ties.

With these additions, flydubai’s network will grow to include over 135 destinations spanning 58 countries, with 35 located in Europe alone. Strengthening this expansion is a codeshare partnership with Emirates, the UAE’s premier carrier, which will codeshare on all four routes, ensuring travelers benefit from smooth and extensive connectivity options.

Beginning in September, flydubai will launch twice-weekly flights to Chisinau, Moldova’s capital known for its growing economy and cultural vibrancy, and Iasi, an important Romanian hub for commerce and culture. These flights will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport. By December, the airline will introduce three weekly flights to Riga and Vilnius, departing from Terminal 3. All flights will be serviced by flydubai’s advanced Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, renowned for its fuel efficiency, lower environmental footprint, and passenger comfort.

This expansion transcends simple route additions—it represents flydubai’s dedication to unlocking underserved markets and offering business travelers, expatriates, and tourists direct and convenient access to Dubai. Eliminating layovers and reducing travel time, these nonstop flights will create fresh pathways for commerce, tourism, and cultural exchange.

flydubai’s fare offerings are competitively structured to appeal to diverse travelers. Business class return fares to Chisinau and Iasi start around $2,178 (AED 8,000), with Economy Lite fares beginning at $435 (AED 1,600). For Riga and Vilnius, business class prices start at $2,041 (AED 7,500), while Economy Lite tickets start from $490 (AED 1,800) and $598 (AED 2,200), respectively. These prices provide a balance between affordability and high-quality service.

In addition to these year-round routes, flydubai is preparing a rich summer schedule with 11 seasonal destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus. Launching in early June ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday, this program combines beloved return destinations with exciting new leisure spots, underscoring flydubai’s commitment to serving diverse travel needs.

On June 5, the airline will start daily flights to Antalya, Turkey, a top Mediterranean holiday destination known for its beaches and history. Shortly after, on June 21, flydubai will debut daily flights to Al Alamein, Egypt’s emerging North Coast resort town. This marks the first time a UAE airline will serve Al Alamein directly, enhancing accessibility to this growing tourism hotspot. Both destinations will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport.

The summer roster also includes Mediterranean and Black Sea gems such as Corfu, Dubrovnik, Mykonos, Olbia, Santorini, and Tivat, alongside Turkish and Georgian coastal cities including Bodrum, Trabzon, and Batumi — areas famed for their cultural richness, scenic beauty, and rising global appeal.
