For Saige Treiman it’s his work but for others it might sound like rest and relaxation. In fact, she’s made her career in hospitality industry and has never turned back thereafter.
“It’s super fun,” she explains. “It’s just the connections. The connections are phenomenal. There are so many people in this world and it gives you the best opportunity to meet even more people.”
However, all through 2021, Treiman has met with setbacks.
“I was laid off…laid off from a couple of different jobs.”
Treiman is one among several others associated with Arizona tourism. He went off the job last year, but as resorts continues to bounce back, the sector need to hire more and more workers.
2021 job openings have risen 11% from 2020, as per Arizona Office of Tourism, but still not quite where they were in 2019.
“Just like everyone, the pandemic has really kind of changed the direction and created some challenges like we’ve never had before,” says Denise Seomin with the Phoenician Resort.
This fall, the Phoenician is all set for more group travel and the upcoming holidays, so in recent months, they’ve arranged two hiring events, in one place, you can apply, interview, get drug tested and if all goes well, get a job offer as well.
