In a bid to champion environmental protection, the Hotel will dim its building façade lights for an hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, joining millions worldwide in this global event.

Led by the World Wildlife Fund, Earth Hour is an annual campaign aimed at spotlighting environmental issues like climate change and biodiversity loss. More than just a symbolic act, it serves as a catalyst for tangible actions and fosters a sustainable future for generations to come.

As a landmark establishment in Madrid, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid reaffirms its dedication to environmental stewardship through its Four Seasons for Good program. This initiative encompasses a range of environmental and social endeavors, from adopting sustainable corporate practices to eco-friendly measures, demonstrating the hotel’s commitment to planetary well-being.

Each action taken by Four Seasons contributes to its robust ESG program (Environmental, Social, and Governance), prioritizing respect for the natural world. The seven structures comprising Centro Canalejas Madrid, including the hotel and Galería Canalejas, boast gold LEED-NC certification from the US Green Building Council, underscoring their sustainable design and energy efficiency. The commitment to electric mobility is evident through the provision of charging stations in the hotel and residential car park, as well as the Centro Canalejas Car Park. Additionally, all energy consumed at Centro Canalejas Madrid is sourced from renewable sources. The hotel also adheres to LEED certification guidelines in areas like water consumption, green roof presence, and waste management optimization.

Beyond tangible environmental efforts, the hotel aims to make a positive, enduring impact on local communities. Through a social responsibility program, it supports local businesses by procuring products for its restaurants, spa, and guest rooms with an eye toward minimizing packaging and ensuring responsible supply chain management. Furthermore, the hotel prioritizes employee well-being and collaborates with charitable organizations to promote sustainable conservation and development.

With a focus on long-term sustainability, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid continually innovates and refines its practices to reduce its ecological footprint and promote responsible tourism. This includes not only participating in events like Earth Hour but also implementing internal measures such as HVAC scheduling, lighting controls, and energy-efficient air renewal.
