Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is asking promising artists to design its lighthouse monument inclusive of a charity art trajectory in Southampton. It even comes with a chance to earn a voyage for two.
The Light the South art trail, in support of Southampton Hospitals Charity will comprise 40 fascinating 8ft-tall lighthouse monuments set up this year in and around Southampton and Cowes from July to September. Each of these lighthouses will be designed by both native and well-known artists, with each supported by domestic businesses.
For each design obtained, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will make a contribution of £5 to Southampton Hospitals Charity, which is gathering important capitals for Southampton Children’s Hospital, which is one of the best paediatric centers across the country, delivering vital backing to patients and their families.
The appealing design would be brought to life by a native artist and would be highlighted in the summer art trail. The winner will also go for on a cruise for two on-board Borealis’ five-night ‘Dutch Tulips and Waterways’ voyage, including well-known canals and windmills, and all-night stays in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.Peter Deer, the Managing Director of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines said that they love to rejoice and repay the communities that they sail from, and as a trade having 175 years of maritime tradition, they feel a close link with Southampton, which is an area that also shares an amazingly opulent maritime tradition.
