The Lord Mayor of Southampton has successfully raised over £6,800 for three local charities aboard Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines‘ Bolette. The beneficiaries of this fundraising event are the Sea Scouts, City Farm, and The Saints Foundation, all contributing to the local Southampton community.
On the day, the Lord Mayor’s 100 guests enjoyed onboard entertainment, live music, drinks, and pastries. The experience included a ship tour featuring visits to the Bridge, various cabins, and lounge areas. The day concluded with a delightful three-course meal paired with wine at Bolette’s Bloomsbury Restaurant.
Bolette’s onboard entertainment team added to the lively atmosphere, aiding in raising £3,000 through auctions and raffles. Donations included a £1,000 necklace, tickets to “Everyone’s Talking About Jamie,” and a five-night Dutch Waterways cruise on Bolette.
The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Valerie Laurent, said, “This was an absolutely fabulous fundraising event on board Bolette. From start to finish, my guests and I were welcomed, and nothing was too much trouble for the crew and the hospitality was second to none.
Georgina May, Public Relations Executive and member of the charity committee at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said, “Supporting local causes and charities is something that’s incredibly important to us, and we look forward to continuing to help our charitable partners in the future.”
