In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) has outlined a comprehensive roadmap for the future of Oman’s tourism industry. The Group has made significant strides in forming strategic investment partnerships with prominent local and international entities. This announcement not only marks a major milestone in the company’s journey but also emphasizes its ongoing commitment to driving growth and supporting the tourism sector.

Under the auspices of Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism, the ceremony brought together a distinguished group of ministers, dignitaries, investors, and influential figures from Oman’s tourism landscape. During this special event, OMRAN Group showcased notable progress on its key projects, highlighted several new strategic collaborations, and reaffirmed its dedication to expanding the Sultanate of Oman’s tourism potential.

Advancing Oman’s Tourism Through Integrated Complexes

OMRAN Group’s future plans are focused on expanding and improving its Integrated Tourism Complexes (ITCs), which play a central role in transforming Oman’s tourism infrastructure. Several new partnerships were unveiled during the event, which included a mixed-use development project with the VA Group at the Port Sultan Qaboos waterfront. This initiative is expected to bring further vitality to this iconic location.

The announcement also included exciting updates from the Yiti Integrated Tourism Development, where OMRAN has entered into three partnerships. These include collaborations with VA Group and Aurelian Group to create mixed-use developments, as well as a luxury resort under the globally recognized Nobu brand in partnership with Enevória Development. Furthermore, OMRAN Group has forged an agreement with Oman Agriculture Development Company to bring the first integrated agri-tourism project to the region through the development of Janaen Salalah, showcasing Oman’s dedication to combining agriculture and tourism in a sustainable manner.

The event was also an opportunity to present design models for upcoming projects such as Madinat Al Irfan, the Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront, the luxurious Four Seasons Resort, and the Opera District development, all of which promise to enhance Oman’s position as a world-class destination.

Luxury Hospitality and Authentic Visitor Experiences

Luxury hospitality and immersive cultural experiences continue to be key components of OMRAN Group’s vision for Oman’s tourism sector. A major highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of the design model for the upcoming Club Med Resort, set to be the first of its kind in Oman and the wider region. This new project will elevate Musandam’s appeal, offering visitors a unique luxury experience surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes.

In addition, updates were shared on other high-profile projects such as the Santani Jabal Shams Resort, which is set to introduce luxury wellness and health tourism to Oman. The Alie Nivas Musandam Resort, designed to blend premium hospitality with Oman’s pristine natural beauty, will also contribute to the diversification of the country’s tourism offering.

The ceremony also provided updates on several initiatives designed to enhance the visitor experience in Oman. Locations such as Wadi Al Shab, Ras Al Shajar Nature Reserve, Majlis Al Jinn Cave, Al Hoota Cave, and Hayl Al Diyar are all part of a growing portfolio of attractions that will reinforce Oman’s global appeal. These destinations not only highlight Oman’s stunning natural beauty but also promote sustainable eco-tourism practices that encourage visitors to explore the country’s diverse landscapes.

Empowering Digital Transformation and New Business Opportunities

In addition to the tourism development projects, OMRAN Group revealed new strategic business ventures aimed at transforming the sector digitally and creating further growth opportunities. One of the most notable announcements was the acquisition of a stake in UnderTheDoormat, an innovative platform in the alternative accommodation market. This acquisition will enhance Oman’s digital marketing capabilities and expand options for tourists looking for unique stays across the country.

Further advancing digital transformation in the tourism sector, OMRAN Group also acquired a stake in the digital travel platform Godoba. This collaboration will introduce cutting-edge technological solutions designed to streamline the travel experience for visitors while promoting Oman as a top travel destination.

Another key partnership announced was with Handicrafts House — Dar Al Herfya, where OMRAN Group will establish a dedicated crafts and heritage center in Muttrah. This center will showcase Oman’s rich cultural heritage and traditional handicrafts, offering visitors a deeper understanding of the country’s history and artistry.

Reflecting on Two Decades of Growth and Vision 2040

The 20th anniversary celebrations also served as a moment to reflect on the achievements of OMRAN Group since its inception in 2005. Over the past two decades, the company has become a major player in the development of Oman’s tourism infrastructure, with a focus on creating integrated destinations that blend modern amenities with authentic cultural experiences. OMRAN Group’s efforts have had a significant impact on the country’s tourism economy, contributing to Oman’s growing international reputation as a must-visit destination.

Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority, emphasized the role of OMRAN Group in achieving the economic diversification goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. The tourism sector, which is seen as one of the most promising areas for future growth, is expected to yield substantial economic and social returns. The Authority is committed to further supporting the development of tourism through OMRAN Group’s strategic investments and partnerships.

Azzan bin Qassim al Busaidy, Chairman of OMRAN Group, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to enhancing Oman’s global standing as a tourism and investment hub. He stressed the importance of close collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, as well as with other government entities, to continue advancing the goals set out in Oman Vision 2040 and the National Tourism Strategy.
