Gabriella Gentile becomes president of Italy’s events group Federcongressi&eventi

In 2024, Federcongressi&eventi, the premier association for Italy’s conference and events industry, announced the election of Gabriella Gentile as its new president. The election took place at the association’s 15th National Convention in Rome on February 23-24, which saw attendance from more than 300 professionals in the conference tourism field. Bringing a wealth of experience from across the conference and events industry, Gentile is also a co-founder of Meeting Consultants, a firm specializing in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry’s growth. Additionally, since 2006, she has contributed her expertise as an adjunct professor at the University of Bologna, where she teaches “Management of Cultural Events” in the Language, Society, and Communication degree program.

“I would like to thank all members for the trust they have placed in me. The two years
of my first mandate have seen the association support the post-Covid recovery of the
national meetings industry and consolidate its role as a key partner with institutions
and stakeholders in identifying strategies to support conference tourism. I am sure
that, with the continued proactive support of its members and Executive Board,
Federcongressi&eventi will be able to continue to grow and support companies in
facing and overcoming new challenges”, commented Gabriella Gentile.

“We will continue to work hard, with pragmatism and determination, and will never
tire of taking new paths, of having the courage to change by interpreting the times we
live in, of developing new projects, of putting forward new ideas and proposals to the
government and institutions, in order to develop and continue to grow the whole
sector, as well as the individual companies that represent it”.

The 15th convention of Federcongressi&eventi was not just any meeting; it celebrated the 20th anniversary of the association, highlighting two decades of dedication and enthusiasm from its members towards their profession and collective efforts to advance the industry.

Federcongressi&eventi is a pivotal non-profit organization founded in 2004, serving as the national body for both public and private entities, including for-profit and non-profit organizations involved in the wide-ranging fields of conferences, conventions, both accredited and non-accredited continuing education, Destination Management Companies (DMC), incentives, communications, and general event activities. Its membership is categorized into functional groups based on their primary activities, such as Destinations and Venues, Conference and Event Organization, and Services and Consultancy. Furthermore, Federcongressi&eventi is affiliated with the Italian Travel and Tourism Federation Federturismo Confindustria, underscoring its significant role within the Italian events and tourism sectors.
