As Europe eagerly anticipates the commencement of the European Championship on June 14, Germany is gearing up to host a considerable influx of guests. This inviting, multifaceted destination beckons global travelers seeking inspiration this summer, perfectly aligning with its eco-friendly initiative, ‘Germany Simply Inspiring’. With projections based on previous events like the 2006 World Cup, over 2.7 million fans are expected to fill the stadiums, while another 7 million are anticipated for communal screenings, marking Germany as a top destination for visitors during the championship season.

Offering untouched natural wonders, authentic culinary experiences, bustling urban centers, and historical treasures, Germany emerges as the leading European destination for international tourists. It provides Indian and global visitors alike with unique, secluded spots and experiences, ranging from tranquil retreats and picturesque road journeys to profound cross-country explorations.

In light of this significant sports happening, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) is capturing the global spotlight, directing it towards the host cities and the abundant attractions in the adjacent areas. Ensuring detailed, accessible information about these locales forms a vital part of this strategy, aiding travelers in their planning.

Romit Theophilus, the Director of Marketing & Sales Office – India at the GNTO, stated: “With the ‘Germany Simply Inspiring’ campaign, our goal is to bolster Germany’s positive image among Indian and international audiences alike, while sharing useful travel tips. Theophilus also shed light on the sustainable practices implemented across various tourism sectors, in both urban and rural settings. Germany is not only a premier travel destination but also a haven of rich artistic history, as seen in the architectural feats and artworks of Caspar David Friedrich, the esteemed 17th-century artist. Friedrich’s symbolic landscapes, depicting thoughtful figures amidst dramatic natural vistas, illustrate his deep connection with the environment.

Art aficionados eager to trace Friedrich’s legacy will find the chalk cliffs on Rügen Island and the Zittau Mountains reflective of his artistic essence. His timeless advocacy for the beauty of nature promotes a slower, more mindful approach to travel, resonating with today’s growing appreciation for sustainability and reconnection with the natural world. Celebrating his 250th birthday next year, an extensive array of events is planned in his hometown of Greifswald, among other venues.

Embark on serene road trips that meander through Germany’s awe-inspiring landscapes, ideal for leisurely exploration. Adventure-seekers can navigate through treetop paths, uncover ancient standing stones, explore historical silver mines, or follow the enchanting fish-route. This relaxed mode of travel is suited for families and offers delightful encounters en route, presenting a variety of travel paths and picturesque options to cater to every preference, inviting global travelers to immerse in the diverse beauty and cultural richness of Germany.
