Germany–UAE Air Connectivity Strengthened as Condor Airlines Expands Flights to Abu Dhabi

Published on December 8, 2025

A major enhancement in Middle East access for travellers from Europe has been prepared through the introduction of new Condor services that will connect Germany with the United Arab Emirates beginning in 2026. The development has been positioned as a strategic expansion, with Condor Airlines set to operate daily flights to Abu Dhabi from Frankfurt and Berlin. As part of this broader network evolution, a codeshare arrangement with Etihad Airways has been established, enabling expanded global connectivity through one of the region’s most efficient transit hubs. Significant interest has been generated among travellers, as these new operations are being aligned with improved travel opportunities, expanded routes, and increased convenience for long-haul journeys. The incorporation of next-generation aircraft, enhanced schedules, and strengthened cooperation has been highlighted as an important milestone for travellers seeking smoother access to cultural attractions, urban landmarks, and diverse landscapes in the UAE. Abu Dhabi’s rising reputation as a secure and dynamic destination has supported this momentum, positioning the city as a preferred gateway for tourism, leisure, and business travel. Through these coordinated efforts, expanded travel possibilities have been made available, creating new avenues for exploration in one of the most vibrant regions in the world.

Condor’s Entry Into the Gulf Market

A new milestone has been reached for Condor as the airline prepares to enter the Gulf region through daily nonstop flights to Abu Dhabi. These operations have been scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026, representing the airline’s first deployment of Airbus A330neo aircraft within the Middle East. Frankfurt has been positioned as the first German city to receive this connection, with daily services planned for May 2026. The route has been structured to maximize long-haul efficiency, utilizing fuel-saving technology and enhanced passenger comfort features aboard the A330neo fleet.

Berlin has subsequently been included in the expansion strategy, with services expected to commence in mid-June 2026 using Airbus A320neo aircraft. The introduction of this capital-to-capital connection between Germany and the UAE has been viewed as a notable step in strengthening political, cultural, and tourism-based ties. The dual-route model has been developed to accommodate varied passenger needs, balancing widebody and narrowbody aircraft in accordance with route demand.

These flights have been integrated into Condor’s broader shift toward global connectivity, marking its initial scheduled expansion into Asia through a formal partnership with Etihad Airways.

Flight Schedules Announced for 2026

Clear schedules have been established to ensure streamlined travel planning for passengers. Beginning 1 May 2026, Flight DE2548 will be operated from Frankfurt to Abu Dhabi on a daily basis using Airbus A330neo aircraft, while Flight DE2549 will provide daily return service from Abu Dhabi back to Frankfurt.

A second phase of expansion has been designed for 15 June 2026, when Flight DE2552 will be operated from Berlin to Abu Dhabi each day using Airbus A320neo equipment. The corresponding return service, Flight DE2553, has been set to operate daily from Abu Dhabi to Berlin. These schedules have been structured to support consistency, regularity, and convenience for those travelling between Germany and the UAE.

Codeshare Partnership Strengthening Connectivity

A comprehensive partnership between Condor and Etihad Airways has been formalized to support seamless passenger movement across continents. Through this codeshare arrangement, shared marketing and synchronized scheduling have been implemented to enhance the transit experience at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Passengers travelling with Condor have been granted access to Etihad’s extensive network, including destinations across Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Australia, Africa, and the wider Middle East.

Similarly, Etihad passengers have been provided with improved connectivity across Germany and other European markets through Condor’s network. Through-checked baggage procedures and coordinated layovers have been designed to minimize travel disruptions and support smoother transfers.

Etihad Guest loyalty members have also been included in the partnership benefits. Mileage earning and redemption opportunities have been extended to flights operated by Condor on the Germany–Abu Dhabi sectors. Additional loyalty advantages have been anticipated as the partnership continues to expand following regulatory authorization.

Regulatory Timeline and Commercial Progress

The codeshare agreement has been scheduled for activation once all necessary regulatory approvals have been secured. Ticket sales have already been opened across the official platforms of both airlines, enabling early itinerary planning for travellers. Final commercial details have been expected to be confirmed closer to the operational launch.

These new services have been positioned to complement Etihad’s current activities in Germany while supporting Abu Dhabi’s long-term strategies for tourism, aviation, and economic growth.
