Ghana, visa-free,

Ghana to grant visa-free entry to all Africans by 2024, aligning with AfCFTA’s vision for unified market and economic growth.

Ghana is poised to revolutionize its entry policies by the end of 2024, with a plan to extend visa-free access to all African nationals, a significant announcement made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

This visa-free initiative aligns with the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), aimed at crafting a cohesive single market across the continent, promoting economic development, generating employment opportunities, and tackling poverty. President Akufo-Addo, during the launch of the 2024 Africa Prosperity Dialogue in Ghana’s Eastern Region, emphasized Ghana’s commitment to visa-free entry for Africans.

He stressed the importance of implementing similar visa-free policies throughout Africa to ensure the free flow of people, goods, and services, using trade as a tool for economic transformation. The implementation of the visa-free program under AfCFTA is envisioned to benefit diverse groups within African society.

The Africa Prosperity Dialogue, orchestrated by the AfCFTA Secretariat and the African Prosperity Network, serves as a yearly forum for African leaders to collaborate and pledge their commitment to the African Union’s Agenda 2063. This dialogue focuses on facilitating visa-free movement and strengthening connections across the continent.
