Global delegates reconnect with Malaysia’s expo industry at expo! expo! 2023

The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) participated in Expo! Expo! 2023 for the second time, which took place from December 5th to 7th, 2023. This event, organized by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), welcomed delegates from all around the world, providing them with an immersive experience showcasing Malaysia’s exceptional abilities in hosting exhibitions.

During the event, MyCEB hosted a tea reception at the Global Pavilion, creating a platform for industry professionals to engage in discussions, share knowledge, foster business-to-business opportunities, and promote innovation. The highlight of the reception was a demonstration of the art of ‘Teh Tarik’ (pulled tea) by a local Malaysian living in Texas. This captivating demonstration offered attendees a flavorful glimpse into the rich tapestry of Malaysian traditions, providing them with an authentic and delightful experience.

Mr. Azman Haji Tambi Chik, the Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, expressed his satisfaction with the expo, stating, “On behalf of our team at the expo, I am pleased to report that we had numerous productive sessions over the three days. Our primary focus was on reconnecting with our US market and engaging with Professional Exhibition Organizers and trade associations. These networking sessions allowed us to reintroduce Malaysia and strengthen our presence in the exhibition industry.”

In addition to promoting Malaysia as a prime destination for business events, the expo served as a platform for MyCEB to build relationships with decision-makers in the exhibition community, exchange innovative ideas, and foster collaboration. Mr. Azman further emphasized, “I believe that we effectively conveyed Malaysia’s strong position in the region and our ability to contribute to the global exhibition industry’s elevated standards. We eagerly anticipate ongoing interactions with our stakeholders and the cultivation of lasting partnerships that will drive sustained growth in Malaysia’s business events industry.”

The Expo! Expo! Tradeshow is an annual gathering of decision-makers in the global exhibitions and events industry, with an estimated value of USD 70 billion. The event features over 250 exhibitors offering products and services across more than 60 categories related to the exhibition sector.
