Global Traveler Names Korean Air Best Airline for First Class Dining in 2024

Korean Air has received top honors for its food and beverage service from Global Traveler in the magazine’s 2024 Leisure and Lifestyle Travel Awards.

The airline won the award for the best onboard menu in its First Class cabin, marking another success for its catering program. Previously, Korean Air had earned accolades for the best airline cuisine in Global Traveler’s 2023 Tested Reader Survey awards.

Depending on the route and season, passengers can enjoy menu options like roasted Chilean sea bass with vermouth sauce, spicy beef short rib stew, spicy buckwheat noodles, and traditional Korean bibimbap.

Global Traveler, a U.S.-based luxury travel magazine, conducts annual surveys where its subscribers vote for the best companies in various travel-related categories. This year marks the 12th edition of the magazine’s leisure travel survey.

Korean Air’s consistent recognition is due to its commitment to service enhancements. Last year, the airline introduced vegan menu options inspired by traditional Korean temple cuisine and offered a diverse selection of pre-order meals, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and children’s options.

Additionally, the airline improved its wine program under the guidance of internationally renowned sommelier Marc Almert, introducing over 50 new wines to its award-winning collection.

Korean Air continues to be globally acknowledged for its customer service efforts. Last year, the airline received a Skytrax 5-star rating for the second consecutive time, an APEX 5-star global airline rating for the seventh consecutive year, and was named Best Business and First Class Airline in the USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
