Goa governor hopes about a healthy revival in the days to come

Stating that the tourism industry has been impacted harshly due to the pandemic, Goa governor P S SreedharanPillai said that there will be a healthy revival in the days to come.


“Goa is committed to achieve the goal of being a welfare state which will assure minimum food, shelter, health and education to every citizen for their prosperity,” Pillai said.


Pillai was speaking after unfurling the national flag on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day held at Campal, Panaji on Wednesday.“The natural beauty and tranquility of the state, vibrant culture and hospitality of the people, flora and fauna have contributed to the growth of tourism in the state,” he added.


Before the assembly elections, Pillai appealed to all the voters of Goa to take part in the voting process by adhering toCovid protocols stringently.


He also urged people to stay faithful to the Constitution of India in letter and spirit. Pillai said that it is the duty of every citizen to protect the sovereignty of the nation.“Over 98% of the eligible population in Goa has been fully vaccinated, including people in the 15-18 age group and booster dose for people above 60 years,” Pillai said.


He appreciated the efforts of the doctors, frontline and healthcare workers for their remarkable service towards protecting people against the pandemic.
