Rohan Ashok Khaunte, the tourism Minister of Goa said that measures against peddlers in the seaside region will convey the confident communication of decent tourism from Goa.

Minister Khaunte said that these touts harm tourism spots by cheating and swindling the tourists. He said
that they need to remove improprieties from the tourism arrangement and for that they require to take action against the touts first.

The minister said that how tourists encounter undesirable experiences owing to these touts. The
police have now started to take action against them. Khaunte said that a strong note requires to be given to these touts. The police are heading in the right direction to take action against them.

In the last few days, the police force in the north seaside belt of Goa has started taking action against
touts being reprimanded as part of the Tourist Trade Act 1982.

To dampen their doings, police in Goa have thought to craft a ‘database’ of the detained touts for taking
additional measures against them.

Calangute Police have detained in excess of 34 touts functioning in its authority since the past few days as
part of the Tourist Trade Act 1982.

This act says that the first-time lawbreaker is penalized Rs. 5,000.
