Goway Travel, Inc. and Great Safaris, LLC notified USTOA that they have mutually agreed to end their business agreement. Great Safaris is no longer a brand under Goway Travel’s Active membership in the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), and therefore, does not participate in the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program.

“Travel agents and consumers should be aware that purchases of Great Safaris’ products made prior to January 25, 2022, are protected under the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program. Deposits and payments thereafter will not be covered by the USTOA program,” advises USTOA President & CEO Terry Dale. “Goway Travel continues to be a USTOA tour operator member in good standing, participating in the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program.”

“Goway and Great Safaris have enjoyed a mutually beneficial partnership since 2010, but the companies have decided the time is right to go separate ways,” said Bruce Hodge, president of Goway Travel. “We wish Great Safaris every success in their growth objectives.”

Dave Herbert, chief experiential officer for Great Safaris stated, “Great Safaris has valued Goway’s support and in due course will apply for USTOA active membership as an independent member. In the meantime, the trade may be assured that all deposits and payments received are secure and Great Safaris with our associates in Africa will fulfill all commitments and services.”

Dale added, “Great Safaris has been a valued member and USTOA eagerly awaits its return to the association.”
