Greater Bay Airlines Launches New Route to Sendai with Four Weekly Flights for Convenient Travel

Published on December 7, 2024

Greater Bay Airlines has expanded its network in Japan with the addition of Sendai as its fifth destination. This follows the recent launch of the Tokushima route in November. Originally a seasonal charter service, the new regular route now operates four times a week—on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays—offering greater flexibility and convenience for travelers. Passengers no longer need to rely on Shinkansen trains or connecting flights from major cities like Tokyo and Osaka.

To mark the debut flight, a special ceremony was held at Sendai International Airport this afternoon. Key figures attending included Ms. Winsome Au, Principal Representative of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Tokyo); Mr. Yoshihiro Murai, Governor of Miyagi Prefecture; Mr. Shinichi Takahashi, Vice Mayor of Sendai City; Mr. Motoi Maeda, CEO of Sendai International Airport; and Ms. Liza Ng, CEO of GBA. All passengers aboard the inaugural flight received a commemorative souvenir pack to celebrate the milestone.
