The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has unveiled an exciting global partnership with the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA), showcasing its unwavering commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ initiatives throughout the year. This collaboration solidifies the GMCVB’s dedication to welcoming LGBTQ+ travelers from across the globe.

Renowned for its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, Greater Miami & Miami Beach is a top choice for LGBTQ+ visitors. The destination not only boasts stunning beaches and a lively nightlife but also serves as a hub for LGBTQ+-friendly establishments and events, providing a secure and affirming space for everyone. From over 12 annual marquee LGBTQ+ events to vibrant neighborhoods like Wynwood and Miami Beach, Greater Miami & Miami Beach offers a range of experiences that embrace and celebrate the richness of LGBTQ+ culture.

John Tanzella, President/CEO of IGLTA, commended the GMCVB’s decision to become a Global Partner, highlighting their dedication to the LGBTQ+ travel community. He emphasized the importance of active participation in the industry, setting a standard for inclusive tourism, especially in a state like Florida.

Expressing enthusiasm and deep honor, David Whitaker, President and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, emphasized the alignment of the GMCVB with IGLTA’s visionary mission to propel LGBTQ+ travel onto the global stage. Celebrated for its international appeal, Greater Miami and Miami Beach welcome approximately 2.7 million self-identified LGBTQ+ travelers annually, with diversity ingrained in its DNA.

The GMCVB recently launched the Rainbow Spring program, enhancing the spring season for LGBTQ+ visitors with unique programming and promotional offers in Miami and Miami Beach. From the Winter Party Festival in March to Wynwood Pride in June, Rainbow Spring features Miami Beach Pride, the destination’s largest LGBTQ+ event in April, along with diverse experiences like the OUTshine Film Festival in April, SweetHeat Miami in May, and the No Fear, We’re Queer Comedy Festival in June.

Having fostered a relationship with the LGBTQ+ community since the 1930s, the GMCVB has been a pioneer in LGBTQ+ marketing, welcoming its first international press group in 1997. Continuing to host international journalists through media visits and press groups, the GMCVB is set to launch an international program with Expedia this year, expanding the global LGBTQ+ visitors network. In partnership with IGLTA, the GMCVB remains dedicated to sharing the Greater Miami & Miami Beach story with the world, extending a warm welcome to LGBTQ+ visitors in this vibrant destination.
