For six consecutive years, Hard Rock International has teamed up with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), a leading conservation organization, to support the annual Earth Hour movement, aligning with the brand’s “Save the Planet” ethos. Since 2007, WWF has urged landmarks and businesses worldwide to switch off lights as a symbolic gesture, prompting individuals to take responsibility for their ecological footprint and foster discussions and knowledge exchange to address environmental challenges.
On March 23, Hard Rock Cafes, Casinos, and Hotels across the globe will join Earth Hour 2024 by turning off lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (local time). Guests at participating properties will engage in enjoyable activities, such as candlelit dinners, acoustic musical performances, flame shows, and cocktail promotions, without relying on electricity for 60 minutes. Additionally, kid-focused events will take place at ROXITY Kids Clubs at Hard Rock Hotels.
Together, Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming properties have saved over 14,000 kWh since 2019 by participating in Earth Hour annually. In 2023, 135 cafes, casinos, and hotels under the Hard Rock brand honored the initiative, making it the most impactful year yet.
“We’re honored to play a part in World Wildlife Fund’s global Earth Hour initiative to raise awareness of the things we can all do to help “Save the Planet” – a motto at the heart of Hard Rock’s DNA,” said Paul Pellizzari, Vice President of Global Social Responsibility for Hard Rock International. “We hope that after guests and team members at our properties experience Earth Hour Hard Rock-style, they’ll be motivated to take a broader commitment to protect our planet at home and in their everyday lives.”
