Hassan Madah describesImagine yourself reading a newspaper as floating naturally on salty blue water, obviously makes you ‘top of the world’ at the lowest point of the earth.

This is exactly what the old Dead Sea of three million years has to offer, explained Hassan Madah, director of Israel ministry of tourism in India.

He stated that world’s one of the saltiest water bodies will allow a person to float naturally and asserted at the same time that one can even read a newspaper in absolute serenity while relaxing on the water.

“As you go deeper in the water, your feet and legs are pushed up and you feel your body becoming lighter, making you float naturally on the mineral-rich waters of Dead Sea,” he said recently.

The famous Dead Sea is around 428 metres below the sea level. It is 9.6 times saltier than an ocean, which makes plants and animals not possible to survive, Madah said by adding further that people utilize salt and the minerals from it to create cosmetics and herbal sachets.

The Dead Sea is full of black mud as it’s the lowest point of earth, which could be applied all over the body, calming the skin with its healthy ingredients, he said.

“With a quality of providing healing power with awesome beauty of surrounding landscape, the Dead Sea is a place of tranquillity, health and inspiration for body and soul,” Madah said.

As per the media reports, the Dead Sea is decreasing at a rapid rate, about 3.3 feet every year mainly due to diversion of water resources it relied upon, mineral extractions from it and hot and dry climate which makes it hard for the waterbody to refill itself.

Also called the Salt Sea, the Dead Sea is surrounded by land between Israel and Jordan. Its eastern shore fits into Jordan, and the southern half of its western shore belongs to Israel.
