As the Christmas holiday season approaches, TravelTech leaders HBX Group have released new data revealing that the United States will be the top choice for international travelers this year. New York and Las Vegas, along with the family-friendly attractions in Orlando, have made the country an irresistible destination for those looking to celebrate the festive season, marking the second consecutive year it has claimed the top spot.

Spain, with an 18% increase in bookings compared to 2022, secures the second position in the annual rankings, followed by Thailand (up 7%), Mexico, and France, rounding out the top five international destinations for Christmas 2023. Italy (up 6%) takes the sixth spot, followed by the United Kingdom at seven, with Brazil (up 32%), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Indonesia completing the list.

Carlos Muñoz, Chief Commercial Officer of HBX Group, stated, “The United States offers a wealth of attractions, from the breathtaking architecture, festive lights, gastronomy, and culture of New York to the year-round sunshine and theme parks of Orlando, catering to a wide range of travel preferences. This versatility is why it has secured the top spot in our rankings this year. Spain maintained its second-place ranking, driven by a late surge in bookings for festive breaks, followed by perennial favorites Thailand, Mexico, and France.”

Regarding city destinations, Paris is expected to host the most visitors during the festive period, thanks to its enchanting illuminated decorations around the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élysées. London takes second place for international travelers, with New York, Dubai, and Bangkok following closely behind.

HBX Group’s data also reveals a trend towards luxury travel for the 2023 festive season, with bookings at five-star hotels worldwide increasing by ten percent compared to 2022.

Muñoz added, “HBX Group has observed a significant increase in consumer demand for luxury travel, with travelers in many markets seeking premium experiences more than ever before. Travelers want to make the most of every day of their journey and are unwilling to compromise.”

Among HBX Group’s country portfolio, Mexico, Thailand, and the UAE boast the highest concentration of five-star hotels. Dubai continues to maintain its status as one of the leading luxury destinations, closely followed by Cancun, Punta Cana, and Bali.
