Maesmawr Hall Hotel, nestled by the River Severn in Powys, Wales, has embarked on a fresh journey with new proprietors at its helm, following over a decade under the stewardship of John Garner and Nigel Humphryson.
Through the expert guidance of Colliers’ Hotels Agency team, this architectural gem from 1535 has been entrusted to John and Lisa Brant, who purchased the property at the listed price. This transition not only marks a significant moment in the hotel’s storied history but also signifies a promising development for travel and tourism in the region.
Under its new ownership, Maesmawr Hall Hotel is poised to enhance its reputation as a prime destination for business gatherings and wedding celebrations. The hotel, known for its bar, lounge, and exquisitely furnished bedrooms complete with historic features such as fireplaces, exposed beams, and detailed timberwork, stands to benefit from the Brants’ extensive experience in hospitality.
Having managed a successful hospitality venture in Spain for 12 years, the couple is eager to infuse Maesmawr with their unique perspective and expertise, aiming to transform it into a leading retreat for relaxation and exploration.
The handover of Maesmawr Hall Hotel to John and Lisa Brant is anticipated to invigorate local tourism by offering an upgraded and distinct experience to visitors. The Brants’ commitment to elevating the property as a premier destination aligns with the broader goal of boosting travel within Powys, providing tourists with an enriching stay amidst the serene backdrop of the Welsh countryside.
The former owners, John Garner and Nigel Humphryson, expressed their satisfaction with the sale process facilitated by Colliers and their optimism for the hotel’s future under its new guardianship. Peter Brunt from Colliers highlighted the smooth transition and the positive impact the new owners’ vision and hospitality background will have on the establishment’s ongoing success and contribution to the tourism industry.
