HML Achieves Prestigious Grand Award at 2023 HKMA Quality Award

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML) has been honored with the prestigious Grand Award at the 2023 Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) Quality Award. Ms. Monica Lee-Müller, managing director of HML, accepted the award alongside the senior management team, dedicating the Quality Award to the entire HLM team for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts adhering to the company’s mission.

HKMA Chairman Dr. YK Pang presided over the Quality Award award ceremony, which was held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hong Kong. HML received recognition for its unwavering dedication to continuous improvement as the operator of a world-class venue for hosting international events. By establishing seamless internal and external collaboration, open and transparent communication and coordination, robust customer feedback collection and analysis, and systematic resource allocation, HML was recognized by the Quality Award examiners for its success in enhancing customer satisfaction. Particularly during the pandemic, HML not only stayed in contact with its clients to provide flexible event scheduling and custom solutions, but also was successful in gaining government subsidies and incentives for the convention and exhibition business to sustain successful operations.

Ms Monica Lee-Müller, Managing Director of HML said “We have successfully built the HKCEC into a world-class venue that attracts organisers, exhibitors and buyers from all over the world to Hong Kong and helps drive the development of the city’s convention and exhibition industry. Over the years, the local industry has grown from the ground up to attain many accomplishments, and its strength today has been affirmed and commended by the international convention and exhibition industry.” She extended her heartfelt thanks to HML’s clients and partners for their unwavering support. Ms. Lee-Müller emphasized that the Quality Award was a testament to the collective efforts of the entire HML team.

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in the United States, the highest degree of national recognition for quality performance and procedures, was first given out by the HKMA in 1991, and it serves as the inspiration for the HKMA Quality Award. The judging criteria encompass seven key aspects: leadership, strategy, customers, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce, operations, and results. The primary objective of the Award is to acknowledge and inspire companies that have demonstrated exceptional contributions to and excellence in the field of quality management.
