Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong is poised to enhance the city’s business and events scene when it opens on 8 September, reinforcing Geelong as a prime destination for corporate and leisure travellers.

Situated at 40 Ryrie Street at the heart of the new Geelong Quarter development, the property is steps away from the city’s prime attractions, including the new Geelong Arts Centre, the award-winning Geelong Gallery, and GMHBA Stadium.

The hotel is also the perfect base for incentive groups or bleisure travellers to explore the Bellarine Peninsula and Great Ocean Road in Victoria.

Embracing the Holiday Inn ethos, the hotel focuses on the brighter side of doing business.

With 180 stylish new rooms, which includes 23 suites, and flexible guest areas, Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong can cater for medium-sized gatherings and social events.

Meeting and function spaces

Three meeting and event spaces are on offer, along with guest areas to accommodate a wide range of events, conferences, and delegations.

From small business meetings to larger presentations, the function rooms can separately cater for 25 attendees each (theatre style), or for up to 110 people cocktail-style when combined.

Guests can make the most of unlimited, free high-speed Wi-Fi and state-of-the-art, built-in AV amenities, complete with a drop-down screen and projector.

With celebrity Chef Adrian Richardson and Executive Chef Migo Razon leading Maestro restaurant, catering for all functions, meetings and events at Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong will leave attendees with a lasting impression.

Tailored food and beverage selections and packages are available, including breakfast and day-delegation packages, as well as canapés, two or three-course lunches, and dinners.

The venue also prioritises accessibility by offering a range of features, including elevator access to all floors, visual alarms or alerts and Braille signage in elevators and public areas.

One space, many possibilities

With its modern design, the hotel offers a fresh and inviting ambiance that adds energy and intrigue to every space, ensuring a truly memorable experience for all guests.

The hotel embraces Holiday Inn’s Open Lobby concept, designed to reflect the needs of how travellers stay and work today.

The Open Lobby transforms the traditional hotel lobby format by integrating all public spaces – from the reception area to a café stocked with snacks for guests on-the-go, a bar and lounge into one warm and inviting living space.

It offers guests a vibrant hub where casual meetings, collaborative work sessions, and relaxing breaks can take place.

With a variety of seating options and an additional media lounge, the Open Lobby creates an ideal environment for informal meetings or breakout sessions.

Meanwhile, the E-bar conveniently provides a space to plug in and stay connected with the day’s news or work.

Creating memorable moments

Guests can also enjoy 24/7 room service to enjoy delicious dishes in complete relaxation, LCD flat-screen TVs and premium shower amenities in every room.

Recognising the significance of a peaceful night’s sleep, guests can choose from a selection of pillows, while select suites featuring balconies and kitchenettes ensure complete comfort for longer stays.

The hotel’s 20-metre heated indoor swimming pool offers guests a relaxing retreat, while the well-equipped Fitness Centre ensures a revitalising start to the day for those who like to work out wherever they are in the world.

The property is also part of the IHG Business Rewards program, which enables companies to earn valuable points every time they reserve accommodations, host meetings, or plan events.

Holiday Inn & Suites General Manager, Daniel Payne, says: “Our accommodation and spaces will provide a bright social hub for work, play, and stay. We’re all about bringing people together in an inclusive way to make real connections. Business Events and International Manager for Business Events Geelong, Tamie Ryan, says: “The hotel is a fresh drawcard for the business event industry within our region. Its comprehensive offering in accommodation, conference and meeting spaces showcase its dedication to the business event sector.”

The presence of Holiday Inn & Suites Geelong will infuse financial benefits into the local economy, with both tourism and business events being key contributors.
