Holland America Line Elevates Cruise Entertainment with Exciting 2024 Mainstage Experiences

Holland America Line is enhancing its acclaimed entertainment offerings by introducing several new mainstage experiences in 2024. These four fresh shows will reimagine the traditional cruise production format. Moreover, they will introduce additional regional productions that celebrate the local culture of the destinations where the ships are cruising, adding a diverse array of performances to their lineup.

In addition to the mainstage, Holland America Line will be introducing Rolling Stone Lounge on more ships and improving its beloved Billboard Onboard music experience.

“Over the past several years we’ve built one of the strongest entertainment experiences at sea, working with world-class musicians and dancers,” said Bill Prince, vice president of entertainment and enrichment. “Adding these new theater experiences continues to build on our momentum.”

Starting in February 2024, the cruise line will unveil four brand-new shows that blend singing and dancing for an exciting mainstage experience. These productions, designed like live concerts, will star three versatile headliners supported by a talented ensemble of singers and dancers. Here are the highlights of the new shows:

• “Song & Dance”: Transporting you to a studio backlot, this show features two leading men performing a medley of musical numbers from Broadway, Hollywood, and beyond.
• “Class Act”: Experience the glitz of Las Vegas at sea with a lavish production celebrating legendary female performers from concert and nightclub stages.
  Enter our live studio audience experience, a vibrant tribute to classic television variety shows from previous eras. This show combines singing, dancing, and comedic elements for an unforgettable experience – it’s ‘All That!’
• “Hey, Mr. DJ”: Travel through the decades from the ’60s to today with iconic radio DJs introducing a concert of pop hits.

These new shows will anchor the entertainment lineup, debuting on Eurodam in February 2024 and then rolling out to Rotterdam, Zuiderdam, and Nieuw Statendam by June’s end, with more ships to follow.

Additionally, Holland America Line will tailor productions to each region, ensuring guests enjoy a unique experience based on their cruise destination. For instance:

• Caribbean cruises on Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, and Eurodam will feature Island Magic’s steel drum concerts, blending traditional island sounds with classical and pop tunes.
• Canada and New England cruises on Volendam and Zuiderdam will showcase Breton Thunder, an authentic Nova Scotia music experience.
• European sailings on Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam, and Zuiderdam will offer classical string music with the Chordial Chamber Trio and the dynamic European tenors of Pantheon.

Alaska cruises will continue to feature Step One Dance Company’s innovative choreography and Major Fourth’s impactful harmonies. The new “Destination: Alaska” program will highlight exciting shore excursions.

Various entertainment venues onboard include the Rolling Stone Lounge, Billboard Onboard, and B.B. King’s Blues Club, offering diverse musical experiences from rock to blues to chart-topping hits. Classical music enthusiasts can enjoy live performances on select European voyages and Grand and Legendary Voyages.

Entertainment options vary based on the ship’s itinerary and duration of the cruise, ensuring a tailored experience for every guest.
