On Easter Sunday, March 31st, Hong Kong Airlines celebrated the inaugural flight of its resumed service to Kagoshima. This route, operating three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, strengthens the airline’s presence in the Kyushu region of Japan, offering travelers more options for convenient travel and access to Japan’s popular tourist destinations.
To mark the relaunch, a ceremony was held at Kagoshima Airport. Mr. Koichi Shiota, the Governor of Kagoshima Prefecture, and Mr. Chen Yuan, General Manager of Hong Kong Airlines Japan Branch, welcomed passengers aboard the first flight. Airport staff also warmly greeted guests and engaged with passengers, distributing bespoke souvenirs from Kagoshima to share the joy of the occasion.
Hong Kong Airlines Chairman Mr Jeff Sun stated: “We are delighted to reinstate our Kagoshima
route, which, in addition to our current services to Fukuoka and Kumamoto, provides extensive
coverage of both the northern and southern regions of Kyushu. Our optimal flight schedules
enable travellers to plan their itineraries flexibly, delve into Kyushu’s rich cultural heritage, and
enjoy its stunning natural landscapes, making it easy to visit the region’s major attractions and
enhance their overall travel experience.”
Hong Kong Airlines is actively broadening its network, and the reintroduction of the Kagoshima route enhances its footprint in Japan. Additionally, the company is diligently increasing flight frequency to and from this destination, aiming to streamline travel arrangements for passengers.
