To mark the Year of the Dragon, tmtplaza, part of the Hong Kong Sino Group, is hosting the “Blessings of the Auspicious Dragon” event, adorned with a soaring dragon decoration created from over 38,000 biodegradable rubber balloons. The project, led by the internationally acclaimed Hong Kong balloon artist Pang Sze Tai Wilson, a two-time World Balloon Convention champion, involves collaboration with his mentor, Taiwanese artist Ho Kun-Lung, artist Qu Xusheng from Shandong, and members of the City University of Hong Kong’s balloon art club and The Methodist Lee Wai Lee College. This collaboration embodies the fusion of tradition and innovation in balloon art, highlighting Chinese cultural themes. Their collective efforts have set a new Guinness World Record for the largest balloon sculpture of a dragon.

Crafted with precision and creativity by the distinguished balloon artist Pang Sze Tai Wilson, this balloon dragon incorporates over 38,000 biodegradable rubber balloons.

Up until February 18, 2024, visitors to the tmtplaza can witness the magnificent golden dragon suspended in the atrium. Every aspect of the dragon, from its horns and whiskers to its eyeballs, has been carefully designed to bring this mythical creature to life in a stunning display. This impressive exhibition not only celebrates the new year but also demonstrates the intricate beauty and craftsmanship of balloon art.
