The Squamish Hot Chocolate Festival is making a sweet comeback for its 4th consecutive year, promising to warm the hearts and taste buds of both locals and tourists alike from February 1st to 22nd, 2024. This year, the festival, orchestrated by Tourism Squamish, is set to feature an array of 22 local businesses, each bringing their own unique twist to the beloved winter beverage. This annual event has become a significant attraction, drawing visitors eager to indulge in the rich, chocolatey delights that Squamish has to offer.

In an effort to spice up the festival experience, a new feature has been introduced: the Squamish Hot Chocolate Festival Tasting Passport. This innovative addition, which can be obtained at the Squamish Adventure Centre or downloaded from the event’s online platforms, is designed to guide attendees on their culinary journey, encouraging them to sample a wide variety of hot chocolate creations. Participants who indulge in 10 or more tastings stand a chance to win a grand prize, adding a competitive edge to the gastronomic adventure.

Among the establishments taking part in this year’s festival are notable names such as Caffe Garibaldi, Cloudburst Café, and the 1914 Coffee Company, alongside a diverse mix of cafes and eateries like Alice and Brohm, Chatterbox Cafe, and Fergie’s Cafe at Sunwolf. These participants are gearing up to showcase their exceptional hot chocolate recipes, ranging from the traditional to the avant-garde, ensuring there’s a flavor to satisfy every palate.

The Squamish Hot Chocolate Festival not only offers a chance to explore the inventive world of hot chocolate but also plays a crucial role in bolstering the local economy. By drawing attention to the variety and creativity of Squamish’s culinary scene, the festival helps to promote tourism, supporting the local businesses that are the backbone of this vibrant community. As the festival continues to grow, it solidifies Squamish’s reputation as a destination for food enthusiasts and adventure seekers, contributing to the town’s appeal as a year-round tourist hotspot.
