Curtis Bova, who steers the ship at Hotel Polaris, stationed at the prestigious U.S. Air Force Academy, recently made a pivotal announcement. The hotel, which is on the books to swing open its doors to guests in late 2024 and falls under the CoralTree Hospitality umbrella, has roped in Kevin Barosso to spearhead its sales and marketing strategies. This move is seen as a significant step in cementing the hotel’s reputation and presence in a competitive market.

Bova, expressing his enthusiasm about Barosso’s appointment, highlighted Kevin’s impressive 30-year tenure in the hospitality realm. He pointed out Kevin’s stellar record in boosting hotel sales and his commendable work ethic, traits that Bova is confident will play a crucial role in realizing Hotel Polaris’s ambitious plans. The duo is no stranger to collaboration, having previously teamed up at Destination Hotels & Resorts, which promises a dynamic partnership for the hotel’s future endeavors.

Barosso’s resume is nothing short of remarkable. Before joining Hotel Polaris, he held the mantle as the director of convention sales at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. There, he led a team responsible for filling the 275,000 square-foot convention space with groups and meetings, a testament to his leadership and strategic planning capabilities. His journey in the hospitality industry also includes a nearly two-decade stint with Two Roads Hospitality and its antecedent, Destination Hotels & Resorts. Throughout his tenure, Barosso excelled in various roles, from regional sales positions to vice president of global sales, where he was instrumental in shaping the group meetings and convention sales strategy.

Barosso’s contributions have not gone unrecognized. His tenure at Terranea Resort as director of group sales, where he successfully booked over 85,000 room nights annually, earned him the Sales Leader of the Year accolade. Moreover, his embodiment of company values was honored with the Spirit of Lowe award during his time at Destination.

His comprehensive background also includes roles at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in Denver and earlier career experiences in sales and catering with Interstate Hotels in Colorado Springs. Barosso, a Keuka College alumnus, holds a Bachelor of Science in Food/Hotel and Restaurant Management and boasts certifications from the Swiss Hotel Association’s “Les Roches” school and Disney University.

The recruitment of Kevin Barosso is poised to significantly influence travel and tourism in the area, particularly as Hotel Polaris prepares for its grand unveiling. With Barosso’s deep industry knowledge and proven track record, the hotel is set to become a beacon of hospitality excellence, drawing visitors not only for its luxurious accommodations but also for its strategic location at the U.S. Air Force Academy. This development underscores the hotel’s commitment to not only bolstering its profile but also enhancing the overall appeal of the region as a prime destination for tourists and business travelers alike.
