Middle East airlines resume flights after drone strikes. Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad restore routes post airspace reopening.

In response to ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, France, India, Russia, and the United Kingdom have issued travel warnings, citing potential disruptions in the travel sector across the entire Middle East. The escalation of the conflict could potentially lead to broader regional instability, affecting not only Israel and Iran but also neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. This situation raises concerns about the possibility of a significant impact on the booming travel industry and a major setback for airline operations.

Several major airlines in the region have already experienced disruptions, with some cancelling services for two days, demonstrating the immediate effects of the conflict on air travel. Although these airlines, such as Emirates Airlines, have announced the resumption of operations after initial cancellations due to Iran’s extensive drone and missile strikes on Israel from Saturday night into Sunday, the situation remains fluid.

Travel warnings issued by various countries reflect serious concerns for the international travel industry, highlighting the potential for continued and escalating disruptions. Travelers and stakeholders in the travel and aviation sectors are advised to stay informed and prepare for possible changes as the situation develops.

Emirates Airlines has confirmed the reinstatement of its flight schedules to and from Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq starting Sunday afternoon. This decision follows the lifting of temporary airspace restrictions in these areas.

Qatar Airways has also restarted its flights to key destinations including Amman, Beirut, and Baghdad. The airline shared this update on X, highlighting a return to regular operations.

Etihad Airways is set to resume regular passenger and cargo flights from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv, Amman, and Beirut beginning Monday. The airline noted that the restoration of these services is facilitated by the reopening of airspace in various parts of the Middle East after the recent disruptions.

Additionally, several countries in the region, including Lebanon, Egypt, and Kuwait, have provided updates following the temporary shutdown of their airspace. As of Sunday morning, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon reported that their airspace was open again after the overnight assaults. Israeli airlines have also resumed normal operations following the reopening of Israeli airspace at 7:30 a.m. local time.

In light of the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, France, India, Russia, and the United Kingdom have issued travel warnings. These advisories urge caution and recommend that travelers stay informed about the evolving situation. The continued tensions may potentially disrupt the travel sector across the entire Middle East.

Travelers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the most current flight information and to anticipate potential delays as services normalize. It’s also recommended to monitor travel advisories from their home countries as the situation develops.
