Hyatt Hotel Corporations has recently announced the appointment of Tammy Ng as the Vice President of Marketing for the Asia Pacific region. Hyatt Hotel disclosed this information in response to inquiries from MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, revealing that Ng will be responsible for formulating and executing strategies related to communications, brand marketing, loyalty programs, and digital initiatives across the Asia Pacific.

Her collaboration will extend to key leaders across various departments such as operations, human resources, development, finance, and design services, among others, to ensure a cohesive approach to marketing and commercial services within the region. Ng’s responsibilities will span across a broad geographical area, including Greater China, Southwest Asia, North and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific, taking over from Karen Chung, who has transitioned to the role of Vice President of Change Management and Employee Experience at Hyatt Asia Pacific.

Ng expressed her commitment to promoting Hyatt as a leading brand in the Asia Pacific, focusing on initiatives that truly reflect the company’s unique culture of care, quality, and local expertise. She aims to enhance the brand’s competitive edge in the fast-evolving market by increasing awareness of Hyatt’s portfolio, strategizing the loyalty program, and regionalizing digital efforts within the Asia Pacific.

Before joining Hyatt, Ng held the position of Vice President for Global Marketing at Kohler Co’s Kitchen and Bath Group, where she spearheaded global marketing and digital transformation strategies. Ng’s extensive experience also includes a nine-year tenure at British technology company Dyson, where she began as Head of Marketing for Asia and eventually became Managing Director for Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Furthermore, Ng serves on the Innovation Advisory Board at Tangle Teezer, offering her unique perspectives and insights to support the brand’s progression and foster collaboration with key stakeholders.

Ng’s appointment is part of Hyatt’s broader marketing strategy to reinforce the hotel’s luxury positioning and creative vision. This strategy includes the recent selection of GHC Asia and Accela Communications by Grand Hyatt to enhance the hotel’s luxury positioning and outreach efforts. These agencies are tasked with repositioning the newly transformed Grand Hyatt Singapore as a grand living room and wellness haven in Orchard, indicating Hyatt’s commitment to elevating its brand and addressing the challenges facing the tourism sector, particularly in terms of marketing and public relations.
