IHCL expands presence in Bhutan with signing of two Taj Hotels

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the largest hospitality firm in India, has officially announced the signing of agreements for two new Taj-branded hotels in Bhutan, specifically in Phobjikha and Paro. These projects involve the redevelopment of existing structures.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, expressed, “These agreements underscore IHCL’s dedication to the region and our strategic focus on expanding our presence in key leisure destinations. We are thrilled to introduce two Taj-branded hotels to the Kingdom of Bhutan, celebrated for its breathtaking natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. This also strengthens our enduring partnership with the CG Group.”

The Taj resort in Paro, featuring 45 keys, sprawls over 7.6 acres amidst protected forests, creating a serene haven surrounded by a flowing stream. The retreat will offer various amenities, including an all-day diner, specialty restaurant, bar, indoor swimming pool, gym, spa, and meeting facilities. Paro, steeped in history, showcases sacred sites and historical structures against the stunning backdrop of snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

In the enchanting Phobjikha valley, the Taj resort, with 34 keys and spread across 3.5 acres, will boast an all-day diner, alfresco specialty restaurant, bar, spa, and fitness facilities. Phobjikha promises adventurous experiences, from mountain treks to visits to the revered Gangtey Monastery, all within a tranquil environment that leaves a lasting impression.
