In 2021, Maldives achieved 90 percent of its tourism target

For 2021, the Maldives has acquired 90 percent of the projected tourism arrivals, state-owned PSM News has shown data from the Ministry of Tourism.


Between Jan. 1st and Oct. 13th, a total of 923,146 tourists had arrived in Maldives, the Tourism Ministry has put forward data. For this year, the number is 76,854 short of the projected target of 1 million tourist arrivals.


In 20 more days, Maldives would reach its target of 1 million arrivals. The country will probably exceed its target and reach 1.2 million arrivals by the end of 2021.


From India and Russia, maximum tourists visited Maldives, accounting for 23 percent and 19.4 percent of all arrivals, respectively.
