In Morocco every year, the number of visitors averaging 12 million makes the country second most visited in the African continent.

This North African country is second to Egypt. As per a report from the African Exponent, Egypt welcomes 13 million visitors every year on an average.

The cultural and historical heritage of Morocco positions its cities among world’s top tourist destinations. Marrakech has earned a reputation for being a world-class tourist destination, in particular.

It houses some of the finest hotels and luxury resorts of the world, including the Royal Mansour Hotel. This hotel has claimed the title of the best hotel in the world in 2021.

The government of Morocco believes its tourism as a prime sector for the socio-economic development. The government has invested in recent years in developing the country’s prospects as a tourist destination, besides Morocco’s historic and cultural appeal. Last Friday, Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) introduced a new campaign. It aims in promoting Morocco as an international holiday destination.

Dubbed “Morocco, the Land of Light,” the brand mainly focuses on young tourists. It will extend to France, Germany, Spain, the UK, the Middle East, and African countries, the ONMT said.
