In India, Germany to invest 4.5 crore for tourism promotion

In the middle of visa issues, Germany has mentioned about an investment marketing activities of around 4.5 crore in India, to display itself as the most favored countries for Indian tourists. In 2022, it had talked about spending a similar amount but used less than anticipated.


Also, Germany is all set to accelerate the visa process, which is taking around eight weeks at this moment, said the deputy head of mission, German Embassy, Georg Enzweiler.


He said that visa is a crucial issue and improving the application time is important, however, at times, bureaucracy takes the time. To manage the increased application numbers, they have taken more staffs in Mumbai office. Still, it takes eight weeks roughly at this moment to get a visa and they all are expecting things to get better, however, bureaucracy takes time, he mentioned.


He also said that Germany had an excessively huge number of applications of tourists from India as it is one of the most preferred nations in the Schengen countries. Due to this, the country has changed visa rules for application from India. Unlike the previous years, from any domestic centre from the VFS Global offices, those who are travelling can now apply for a visa around the country.
