Taufan Rahmadi, a tourism expert, has recently praised the policies implied in several tourism spots by Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno.
To quote Uno as he said when contacted on Tuesday, “I see how in those places, vaccination is always pushed; of course, in collaboration with regional governments and local Tourism Offices.”
He also explained that the tourism industry players have expressed eagerness by looking for schedules and venues of mass vaccination programs. As more and more people are keen on getting vaccinated, hopes have come out for the recovery of the tourism industry, he remarked.
Rahmadi has requested lately to open up tourism spots and follow the health protocols consistently with a disciplined approach to stop the reappearance of new COVID-19 clusters.
“Nowadays, tourism areas need to be brave, to learn how to live with COVID-19,” he remarked.
The shifts in the culture of tourism in terms of maintaining the health protocols has been foreseen to get altered as the decision-making process of prospective tourists, with tourists selecting places where contracting possibility of COVID-19 is the minimum, Rahmadi observed.
“The tendency of tourists (now is) to look for places close to nature, places that are not (involved in) mass tourism. They look for private places, which make them (feel) safe and comfortable,” he explained.
