Between October 1st and 21st, Maldives welcomed record number of tourists – 102,434 arrivals
As per the weekly statistics publicized by the Ministry of Tourism only recently, the total tourist arrivals from January 1 to October 13 had reached 923,146. This makes Maldives extremely close to its target of tourist arrivals for the ongoing year.

As 2021 comes to an end, at present, average arrivals stand at 3,228 per day, with their stay period recorded at nine days. On an everyday basis, a total of 4,022 tourists are arriving on Maldives.

Arrivals recorded in October are a 585.8 percent up from the previous year. It’s an 11 percent drop from the same time in 2019.

Total arrivals for 2021 are a 125.5 percent rise from the arrivals recorded last year, a slothful year for the tourism of Maldives due to border-closure. However, 2021’s arrivals so far are a decrease of 29.6 percent in comparison to the over one million arrivals recorded during the same period in 2019, a new year for Maldives tourism.
