At Fife College, UK, two former students came down to share the way their travel and tourism courses have assisted them to kick-start their careers remarkably.


Rebecca Saxton and Billy Mackie from the Kirkcaldy Campus of Fife College had completed their courses in travel and tourism courses and currently working as cabin crew members for Jet2.


Rebecca is 23 years and Billy is 27 years and now they have shared how the Fife College courses have made their careers all set for a nice take-off.


Billy had completed the Travel and Tourism National Certificate prior to completing the HNC and HND level, explained that he was at first working in a shop. He always wanted to do something different wherein he can make the use of the skills that he had picked up in sales and customer service.


At college, he said that these courses helped him hugely as it gave him the experience in all the job roles that he wanted to do.


These courses prepare an individual in the right way for the job. In the job, these courses offer real tasters of what one need to do in the real job role. He said that here one gets all the tools along with resources and knowledge that one need to do well in the industry.


With Jet2, Rebecca had started as a ground operator before SHE moved into the role of a cabin crew.


She said that at school, she got interested in travel and tourism. She thought of a career and Fife College was the best way to get into the industry.
