India was one of the participants at the remarkable Qatar Travel Mart (QTM) 2025, which took place from November 24 to 26 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), and India was one of the countries that participated. The event’s apex was the India Pavilion, which gave a total picture of India’s tourism potential, providing wellness tourism, adventure experiences as well as the most famous sites across the country. Minister Khaunte’s Remarks on Goa as a Premium Destination

Rohan A. Khaunte, in his address, outlined Goa’s natural charm and its increasing appeal among Qatari travellers, especially in the wellness and monsoon tourism sectors. Emphasising the state’s Ayurvedic traditions, he noted how the serene green season and the state’s warm hospitality have made it an ideal destination for wellness-seeking families from Qatar. Khaunte pointed out that with the convenience of direct flights by Qatar Airways, Goa’s accessibility for Qatari visitors has never been easier. His remarks also echoed the government’s broader vision of attracting more international tourists to India through various initiatives, including the ‘Chalo India’ campaign.

Alongside Goa’s representation, the India Pavilion at QTM 2025 also showcased several other regional tourism offerings, including wellness retreats, adventure tourism, and eco-friendly travel experiences. Ambassador of India to Qatar, H.E. Vipul, reaffirmed the growing tourism linkages between India and Qatar. He also emphasised Prime Minister Modi’s vision for India’s growth, particularly through the promotion of 3Ts: Trade, Tourism, and Technology. This focus on tourism is intended to further enhance India’s global tourism presence while fostering stronger bilateral ties with nations like Qatar.

The event also saw Qatar-based social media influencer and travel blogger, Khaled Ghafouri, sharing his personal travel experiences to India. Ghafouri spoke passionately about India’s exceptional hospitality, cultural diversity, and the growing interest among Qatari youth in exploring lesser-known Indian destinations. His words added a personal touch to the discussions, offering valuable insights into the experiences that travellers from Qatar can expect when visiting India.
