PM Modi inaugurates Atal Setu, India’s longest sea bridge, enhancing connectivity to Mumbai International Airport and key regions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a new era in India’s infrastructure development with the inauguration of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu in Navi Mumbai. This sea bridge, named in honor of a distinguished former Prime Minister, represents a significant stride in India’s journey towards infrastructural modernization.

The Atal Setu is a structural colossus spanning 21.8 kilometers, making it the longest sea bridge in India. This six-lane marvel, constructed at a cost exceeding ₹18,000 crore, is a testament to India’s engineering capabilities and its commitment to enhancing urban connectivity.

Strategically positioned, the bridge extends from Sewri in Mumbai to Nhava Sheva in Raigad district’s Uran taluka. This location is critical in improving the connection between major urban and commercial zones in Maharashtra. A key aspect of this bridge is its role in facilitating quicker access to the Mumbai International Airport, significantly reducing travel time for passengers and freight.

The Atal Setu is poised to revolutionize travel in the region. By shortening distances to Pune, Goa, and South India, it opens new avenues for economic and tourism activities. The bridge also bolsters logistical operations by improving the link between the Mumbai Port and Jawaharlal Nehru Port, enhancing trade efficiency.

The inauguration of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu by PM Modi is a landmark event in India’s infrastructural evolution. Beyond being a remarkable engineering feat, the bridge symbolizes India’s commitment to building a robust and modern transportation network. It not only strengthens the nation’s economic framework but also stands as a symbol of progress and resilience, showcasing India’s readiness to face future challenges and maintain its trajectory towards becoming an infrastructural powerhouse.
