Submarine, gujarat tourism, India

The Indian state of Gujarat’s Dwarka is about to embark on a new tourism endeavour that will provide trips for deepwater submarine exploration, so all eyes will be on this. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in 2024 in Gujarat will finally discuss the submarine tourism initiative to make it fully operational this year.

Gujarat has finally revealed its plan for a submarine tourism initiative to enter the stunning world of underwater experiences in partnership with Mazgaon Dockyard Limited. The theme for this year’s global summit is “Gateway to the Future”. This will take place at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

Beneath the sea rests a beautiful world like Aquaman’s Atlantis or Little Mermaid’s Atlantica. Under the pristine waters that envelop Bet Dwarka—a tiny island tucked away in the Arabian Sea between the modern-day Dwarka and the ancient Dwarka city—the marvelous land of wonders will be waltzed.

The epic Mahabharata claims that Lord Krishna was the one who founded Dwarka. Across history, it has been referred to as Mokshapuri, Dwarkavati, and Dwarkamati. Even Krishna settled here after he defeated Kansa at Mathura.

As the myth recounts, the land is believed to have been submerged after the death of Krishna. With the submarine, tourists will be able to venture into the world that exudes Indian artefacts and aesthetics.

This will be the first underwater tourism facility in India. The endeavour is going to be extensively discussed during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit on January 10, 2024.

Through the cooperation between MDL and the Gujarati government, the construction of a 35-ton submarine with a capacity for 30 passengers will be possible.

Nearly 24 people can fit in two rows of seats, and every cabin on the ship will have windows that open to a stunning 300-foot view of the ocean’s splendor.

Saurabh Pardhi who is the managing director of Gujarat Tourism, told the media that this will be a “different project”. This endeavour is set to boost the tourism in Dwarka, making it a hotspot on a global scale.

Normally, hundreds of tourists visit Dwarka every year because of its religious significance. Alongside this, the famous Dwarkadhish Temple happens to strive as a prominent site for pilgrimage for Hindus.
